Flat Daze

Ugh. I think we're on track for one of the lamest hurricane seasons in many years. I passed some time the other day waxing my new board in hopes of one day actually being able to use it. This is what a wax job looks like when you've gotten a new board and boredom takes over...

And some other pics...

sweet. nice job.

what's the trick to getting the thick lines of wax like that?

go over each line several times with a corner/edge of the wax. then lightly brush over the whole thing with the long edge of the bar of wax. oh, and have lots of patience.

Nice board! Did you shape that and have Moonlight glass it, or??

Great blog, too. When I'm done with my #001, I'm def going to blame...I mean, credit you ;>)

ya, i shaped that one in just over an hour. sent it over to moonlight, and told them to put a rush on it and they had it done within the week....um, IN MY DREAMS!!!

this beauty was in fact glassed at moonlight, but it was not shaped by me, it was shaped by Manuel Caro of Mandala Custom Shapes. i'll most likely never be able to shape something this nice anytime soon.

please keep in touch when you finish your #001. and definitely blame me for all your mistakes, i take full responsibility for misguiding all of you with my lack of patience and inability to measure twice. but then again, what fun would all this be without mistakes???
